Why an intervention can make all the difference
How AIS Intervention can assist
An intervention can make all the
difference for a family struggling with an addicted person. There is a common
misconception out there that an addict MUST hit bottom first in order to be willing
to accept help and make a change in their life.
Addicts
die everyday, not because they do not want to change, but because they suffer
from an illness has gone untreated. An intervention is sometimes the first step
towards getting treatment for the addicted person.
Interventions
are successful. In fact, of those who contact a trained interventionist, about
90% are successful in getting the addict to enter into treatment. Addiction is
a spectrum disorder and the interventionist must take into account the full complex
of etiology, system influences, adaptation to and progression of the disease.
